• Will the REO Speedwagon Screen Saver run on my system?

  If you are running a PC with Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, yes. The screen saver will not run on Windows 3.x, and it won't run on an Apple Macintosh.

• How much disk space will the screen saver occupy?

  A complete installation requires a bit under 5MB of free disk space. The REO screen saver, like most Windows applications, relies upon a myriad of support files which are often shared with other applications and the operating system. The more of these shared support files you already have, the less room the screen saver installation will seem to require.

• What type of graphics support is required?

  Your screen's resolution can be as low as 640 X 480 pixels, but 256 color support is highly recommended. With 16 colors, the graphics look non-optimal.

• Do I need a sound card?

  No. The screen saver does not access any audio resources on your computer.

• Why does the animation seem slugglish on my system?

  Video animation is very taxing on your computer's resources. If you have a slower PC or a small amount of available RAM, the screen saver will run slow. Tests on a 486 50Mhz computer with 8MB of RAM showed this. Your mileage may vary.

• Is technical support available?

  The screen saver is supported via e-mail on a limited basis. Click HERE for details.

• Can't I just post a technical support question on the chat pages?

  Please don't. The chat pages are a meeting place for REO fans, not a technical support forum.

• What does it cost?

  It is free to download and use, but the copyright is retained by the author.

• I have an idea about how the screen saver can be improved. Who do I contact?

  Your ideas are welcome. Please send your idea the same way you would a technical support question.

• Does that mean there will be newer versions in the future?

  It depends on how popular the screen saver is, and if there are reasons to enhance it. If bugs are found, there will probably be maintenance releases.
